Seattle's Best 1000 Cups

Seattle's Best 1000 Cups

It’s Business Time

Chris 2010.08.11 - 7:00 am

Giving out coffee to the suited folks of Toronto in the business district as they head to work and for their AM coffee breaks. It’s hustle and bustle and the cups are flying out of our hands.

We had a blast powering these busy workers with Seattle’s Best Coffee®! The only hiccup was finding people who didn’t already have coffee. It appears that every business person in Toronto needs their morning cup. So we had to sift through the sea of cups to find people in need of a complimentary pick-me-up.

We stopped and chatted with a few (the ones who weren’t rushing a million miles per hour to their offices) and it was interesting to learn their different morning coffee rituals. Everything from people whose free coffee was their 3rd one of the day (remember, this is at 7:00am), to one guy who makes one cup last all the way till lunch, drinking it super slow. That seemed a bit unusual to me, but who am I to judge? Also, I met one guy who puts a spoon full of jam in his coffee, now that’s definitely a new one.

I think our Toronto Maple Leafs cooler definitely helped make us some friends. All in all we made a big dent in our 1000 cup challenge and put smiles on some serious faces.

SEW INTO COFFEE

Chris 2010.08.10 - 5:00 pm

Met up with Willa and Pattie over at Mari Cla Ro to check out their back room workspace where they take recycled materials and turn them into anything from bags to wallets. They use bits of rubber tubing, car seats, belt buckles, and more, repurposing them into really cool stuff, even a pretty sweet pair of goggles.

The Kensington Market

Chris 2010.08.10 - 3:00 pm

Hanging out in Kensington neighborhood. It’s a super diverse super interesting neighborhood with all kinds of colors, people, and things going on.

We hit up a cool little record store did some shopping and handed out so much iced coffee it was ridiculous. It was something like 86 today in Toronto and humid as can be, so we had very little problem giving the stuff away. Not mention people thought it was great.
